TO block out the glare from the sun and the stadium lightsWhy do football players wear that black line of makeup underneath their eyes?
so they are not blinded by the glare of the lights or the sun
It stops the glare of light into their eyes so that they can see better.
its not only football players baseball players do it also.-in fact its even more prevalent in baseball.--it absorbs the glare/sunlight so light doesnt bounce off the underneath area and reflect into the eye.
It prevents getting glare from the sun and the lights.
To keep the glaring sun or bright lights out of their eyes
shut up you stupid idiot
Black absorbs light. By putting it under their eyes it helps reduce the glare from stadium lights or the sun. In football, you'll notice that it is normally worn by the receivers and sometimes the quarterback. The last thing you want when you are a receiver is to look up to catch the ball and the glare of the sun or lights interferes with you being able to see and catch the ball.

It's also done a lot in baseball so that the outfielders can see to catch the ball better.
to cut down the glare from the sun or stadium lites
It cuts down on the reflection of the sun and/or overhead lights in their eyes.
'cause they r gays
