What is a good line of face makeup to almost completeley cover up moderate to severe acne?
Don't use foundations that are made for burn victims - these will make you look like you've caked on special effect makeup and, since they are usually waterproof, will more than likely make your acne worse. Instead I would suggest you use a foundation that gives more than usual coverage but is still manufactured for facial use.
A perfect foundation would be MAC Full Coverage. This is a powder foundation so it won't look caked on at all, yet it is still manufactured to provide completely opaque coverage if necessary. It can even cover scars. It's easy to blend and water-resistant, so you can even go swimming. The link's below. Hope it helps :).

It's probably better than many traditional cosmetics out there, but if you are wanting to try out mineral makeup, I wouldn't get a drugstore brand...especially, if you have sensitive skin or are against animal cruelty testing. Most drugstore and department store brands use harsh ingredients, preservatives (parabens) and cheap fillers (bismuth oxychloride, talc, kaolin clays and other clays, zea mays -cornstarch to name the most popular), that can be overdrying and/or irritate the skin.
I'd highly recommend Lumiere Mineral Cosmetics. I have tried so many mineral cosmetic brands %26amp; Lumiere is where I get my Holy Grail foundation for my very sensitive skin. It depends on what you're looking for. Good for sensitive skin, lots of options, not gimmicky? Clinique. A more sophisticated look? Yes, Estee Lauder or Lancome. A ';no makeup'; makeup? Benefit has tons of stuff to make you look great without looking ';made up';. Every company has something going for it. You can check out brands at the mall and get some samples, especially of foundation, to see what looks good on you and what you like. Mary Kay has great eyeliner. I haven't tried Urban Decay, but they do have a following (they haven't been at it a very long time, though...not like other brands. Only since 1996). On my face right now I have Benefit dandelion (the best blush I've ever used), Clinique mascara and superpowder (great coverage and not cakey) and some Tarte Clean Slate, a foundation primer which is marvelous. It depends on what you're looking for. Good for sensitive skin, lots of options, not gimmicky? Clinique. A more sophisticated look? Yes, Estee Lauder or Lancome. A ';no makeup'; makeup? Benefit has tons of stuff to make you look great without looking ';made up';. Every company has something going for it. You can check out brands at the mall and get some samples, especially of foundation, to see what looks good on you and what you like. Mary Kay has great eyeliner. I haven't tried Urban Decay, but they do have a following (they haven't been at it a very long time, though...not like other brands. Only since 1996). On my face right now I have Benefit dandelion (the best blush I've ever used), Clinique mascara and superpowder (great coverage and not cakey) and some Tarte Clean Slate, a foundation primer which is marvelous. I wear these items daily, and occasionally do more with my eyes. It's all in what you like.What is the absolutely best line of makeup that you can buy?

Each makeup line has its own specialty product. MAC is great for eye makeup, Bare Essentials for Face Makeup, Bobbi Brown for lips, Great Lashes (from Long's) for mascara, etc. You'll have to experiment with what works best for your skin type. Wet 'N Wild, I guess, is truly me. Their lipglosses are two to three bucks, whereas the others are five to ten bucks!
Also in my arsenal of ';war paint'; as my father calls it, is Garnier Fructis hair anti frizz hold spray, and Elizabeth Taylor's fragrance White Diamonds. Body shimmers you can get at Victoria's Secret or anywhere else.
For makeup removal, Stridex pads sensitive skin formula with salicylic acid and aloe.

Even though I'm 26 years old, I continue to battle acne on a daily basis. I've recently begun using the Proactiv Solution system and have seen moderate results. I am looking to change from my usual makeup to something that will also improve my skin. But for the moment I would not suggest using a new makeup product, and if you do try one that is non-comodogenic and that contains no oils. I wish I could help you more...
I have tried Proactiv and it didn't improve my skin. Then I tried Mary Kay. My skin cleared up with in a week. They have great acne treatment products and the makeup it oil free and won't clog pores. Just click the link below.

I used to purchase this at sephora, and the last time i got it, i had bought plenty of it, because they didnt have a sephora in my town, so i was flying out of state to purchase this. They are free and you will receive tips and free samples of Clinique products to try. Clinique has a 3-step program that you can use to wash your make-up off and keep acne from forming on your face. It really does work wonderfully. The only downside to Clinique is that you will be paying more for the products, but the benefits of using the products are definitely worth it.

But I would first stop using everything but moisturizer and only moisturize twice a day for a fortnight and see how you go :)
Instead of using baby oil or oily makeup you shoulod just use a moisturizing face lotiond or foundation you can find them at any drug store and are a much better option for you

I love sephora... Bare essentials is great I love the eyeshadows...My favorite product is. Lemon aid by benefit... its creamy makes your eyeshadows last longer, prevents your eyeshadow from going into the crease, its great. Especially when you want to blend colors it gives you a fresh, clean, smooth surface.
I really like stila, the origins makeup line, and covergirl for inexpensive products like mascara.
I love my c.o bigelow orange mentha lipgloss, neutrogena face wash, benefit benetint and origins ginger stuff and there halo effect!

Where in china can i get a manufacturer to make my own makeup line?
I'm helping out my very unorganized fiance start her own makeup line. she thinks if she goes to china she will get her own makeup line. i dont think she will. but i have to be supportive.
so the question is: where in china---anywhere in china----can she get a makeup manufacturer to mass produce her own makeup line?
BTW:she already has a plane ticket and is leaving next week-without any research done. just word of mouth that she can get it there........Where in china can i get a manufacturer to make my own makeup line?

You got to commend her assertiveness. However, China is one of those countries you can walk into, make relationships and get started.. The trouble for her right now is going to be 1. Startup - making the right relationships. At the very least, she should know something about Chinese culture, a little bit about the language, she should have someone who is extreemely trusworthy translate/interpret for her and she should expect to be exploited and never expect a contract to go the way it was drawn up, signed and agreed to in words and by signature.. Contracts are like stop signs in China, they are mere suggestions about how things should go..

We all got more than a little drunk and they shared some rather disturbing information about the Chinese standard of cosmetics.. Inferior inrgediants being substituted in the manufacturing process.. MAC is probably THE best place to get great facial coverage and its worth the money.
i suggest getting either MAC studio fix fluid foundation or Mac studio fix foundation. but before applying any foundation or powder, you will need a good primer... try MAC prep + prime. the studio fix foundation or powder will leave you with a matte finish (your skin wont look oily or shiny).
also, make sure you have a good cleansing routine for your face to help prevent any further breakouts.
I think Max Factor are really good, I use their foundation and Maskara!!
It really depends what you are looking for... The best thing to do it try different brand untill you find something you like and that suits your skin!!

the mattifying is a good formula; it does what it says and keeps any shine at bay. however, i like more of a dewy look, which is why i LOVE LOVE LOVE the hd invisible cover.. it just makes your skin look so amazing. they both have complete coverage and stay put all day, so between the two, i'd say just pick mat+ if you like a completely matte finish or hd if you like more of a natural sheen.

For those who do not know what Rosecea is, it is a skin condition that makes you look flushed or like you are blushing all the time, it really sucks! I donot have big blemishes like acne, but I have dry skin bumps that show through my makeup mainly on my cheeks and a few on my forehead. Hi Babe!! Wash your face with cold water - sometimes rosecea gets worse if your body type if warm. So wash is with cold water as much as possible. Then after applying make up quickly around your face insetad of using blush use a sheer shimmering nude powder and just lightly with a brush put it on it will hide your redness and even if it shows it will look like you have a blush on with the help of a shimmery glow!! :o)
i use bethamethasome cream on my feet and hands for dry and cracked skin but im not so sure you can use it on your face so maybe get an appointment with your doctor and ask him/her for some addvice or tips on what to do
my cousin has rosecea i can always ask her and give you a yell after i talk to her
Try Neutrogena or Physicians Formula Products. Good mineral makeup that covers well. They have some green powder and sticks that cover the redness then you put regular powder on.

Also, how old are you? I'm assuming you're young by your writing style but i may be wrong. Women are prone to rosecea when they come into or approach their 30's. Its hormonal changes that cause it. So it may not just be a dermatologist you could benefit by seeing if you are in this age group.
I have really dry skin also, and eczema. I use Aveeno soaps and lotions and it really helps. You could also try a cortizone cream. If those don't work ask your doctor. I have to have a perscription cream for my hands because they get dried out really bad. As for make-up I would try something with a moisturizer and try not to put on a lot of it because make-up cloggs pores and makes skin worse. When I do wear make-up I apply it sparingly. Good luck.

This keeps my skin matte and also soothes the rosacea. Best of luck.. it may take awhile to find what works for your skin. ...

i don't know if the previous answers are recent facts but i'm assuming they are opinions. the last I heard (this being about 6+ months ago...) Clinque was number one and Cover Girl was number two! I use Clinque and i love it, i will never switch to anything else. I do tend to buy cheaper eye liners and eye shadows (usually by Lorel, because although it's a super market brand it's one of the best of it's kind and it's made by the same company as Lancome which is a high dollar department store brand)

For me it is Bee Luscious. MAS is too thick and heavy, Bare Minerals made me breakout and itch because of the bismuth. The Bee Luscious makeup goes on easily and looks fabulous. It is also the only makeup I have used that I didn't feel as if I needed to rush home and wash my face and that was what really won me over.

i don't know if the previous answers are recent facts but i'm assuming they are opinions. the last I heard (this being about 6+ months ago...) Clinque was number one and Cover Girl was number two! I use Clinque and i love it, i will never switch to anything else. I do tend to buy cheaper eye liners and eye shadows (usually by Lorel, because although it's a super market brand it's one of the best of it's kind and it's made by the same company as Lancome which is a high dollar department store brand)

For me it is Bee Luscious. MAS is too thick and heavy, Bare Minerals made me breakout and itch because of the bismuth. The Bee Luscious makeup goes on easily and looks fabulous. I have not had one problem with breakouts, itchy skin or clogged pores. It is also the only makeup I have used that I didn't feel as if I needed to rush home and wash my face and that was what really won me over.

MAC, but I find that their foundation is not friendly. I breakout before I come home from whatever event I had makeup on for. So try clinique foundation if you are having skin problems,
BUT DON'T YOU DARE use anything but MAC for your eyes.(liner, mascara, shadow)
MAC is really good. As with most make-up you will pay a good penny, but they last a while. Keep in mind that everyone has different skin, so something that may work for someone else, might not do it for you. Happy Make-up!

Okay, every time I do makeup (any kind. Specialty, everyday, any kind.) if I put eyeliner on, I end up with a line just below my brow bone. I know why, it's because the makeup rubs off there, but I have no idea how to make that not happen.
Does this happen to everyone? Should I set the liner before I open my eyes? When I do specialty makeup, it looks stupid, and I'm trying to make a portfolio so I'd like that to...stop. Am I doing something wrong?

Just apply this all over your lid, from lashline to browbone, let it dry and set for a minute and then apply your makeup as normal--no other steps needed. What these primers do is: (1) create a barrier against oil, which is what causes migration and melting of eye makeup; (2) smooths out and brightens the eye area, creating a better canvas for you to work with; (3) increases the intensity of the colours of the products you apply over it.

Well-my BFF told me about this foundation called Bare Minerals. It is amazing!!!
I went to the website and it had a video demonstration that had been recorded from a TV special. It had a well known brand name liquid foundation((can't remeber the actual name!)) Well the put a little on 1 girls hands and Bare Minerals on the other girls hand. Then they stuck their hands in a bowl of water to represent sweat,getting your face wet,etc. After just 15 seconds-yes 15-the liquid started to run off. They kept their hands in the bowl for 1 min. By the time they took it out the Bare Minerals had CLEAR WATER! no make-up in ot at all! But the liquid make-ups bowl didn't exactly look like water anymore.((hehe))
I don't mean to be sounding like an infomircial or anything ..
but i think EVERYONE should at least look into Bare minerals. They have such a wonderful product. I had acne scars-but no body can see them cuz of my make-up!

no it actually makes your skin more oily if applied to oily skin. it's best to wash your face, dry it up and then apply your make-up. it stays on longer, and makes your face tones appear natural.

What makeup line would you suggest for those who have tinea versicolor and a light brown complexion?
i hate to do this...but what meds are you taking to help it? I've been dealing with this for over 10 years, and am afraid to take the oral meds because the doc said i would have to get my liver and kidneys checked monthly to make sure the meds weren't interfering with anything. i use the cream everyday, but if I'm in the sun too long, it comes right back. by the end of the summer I'm a spotted mess.

I can tell you right now, I'd give each brand a -100 as far as foundations and powders go, I wouldn't allow that stuff to touch my face with a ten foot poll. The best stuff on the market, by far, is the foundation line by Bare Escentuals. Cosmetologists, dermatologists and make up artists alike (and myself) all LOVE their Bare Minerals foundation.
I use Covergirl or Maybelline for lip gloss. That's it.

How do i get rid of my makeup line!!!!?
okay im 16 and not too many people wear cover up. but i do.. but all my friends joke and say how they can see my makeup line. BUT its not the color thats bad cause i went to the mall and they got a color to match to skin.. !!How do i get rid of my makeup line!!!!?

Blend, blend, blend. Also use moisturizer under your makeup to help it go on smoother. Using a damp sponge may also help.

And before you leave the house go outside into the sunlight with a mirror and make sure it looks natural artificial light makes anything look good

I think it's very important what you use to apply founation. I think buffing in foundation is best with a brush. This is because it spreads better, give you more coverage with out any extra application of make up, and looks flawless yet natural.
Since this is temporary, i suggest using a tinted moisturizer. There are so many out there, i suggest reading a couple of reviews. They give sheer coverage, but it sounds like you don't need a whole lot anyways.
