I agree with Cathryn elf is a very nice line of makeup and all makeup products are 1 dollar. It is a very good price for such high quality makeup. Some of the funds go to charity. Urban Decay is a great makeup line that isn't too expensive. MAC is probably the best, a bit pricey but well worth it. It lasts long and has great products.
Ulta has their store brand that is good. Otherwise, if you want to invest in great make up , save up a little and try the Bare Minerals line. It is powdered make-up and it is amazng. The Bare Minerals is available at Ulta and also they have their own stores in some malls.
the makeup i really like is ';bare minerals.'; it's only sold online, as far i i know... cheapest on ebay. as far as makeup goes though, i think you can't go too cheap, or you can tell by the wear %26amp; whether it lasts.
I love MAC, Ulta, and Sephora! They have alot of different choices, and brands.

I'm not sure where you are, but Ulta is a great store for cosmetics, and they carry a nice price range of products. I'm in Chicagoland, and there are many here, but when I lived in Florida, I never saw the chain.

I've got really sensitive skin and I have recently started using Bare Minerals and I love it. It's all natural, so it's healthy for your skin. It doesn't make me break out like Cover Girl or Maybeline or those other lines used to because it doesn't have any greasy components. And it's not too expensive. Although it is sold at higher end stores than CVS or Rite-Aid, it's not as expensive as, say, Clinique, and it's well worth the money.
