There is a *makeup line* from the expansion tank
to coolant inlet to help keep the coolant in
the oil cooler and aftercooler circuit at the correct level.What is it meant by makeup line here?
As coolant evaporates the pressure in the circuit falls. The ';makeup line'; draws additional coolant from a separate reservoir that is not part of the cooling circuit and feeds it into the circuit. It is therefore ';making up'; for the deficiency in coolant level caused by evaporation.
