How to get rid of that makeup line on my jaw?

I've tried for YEARS to get rid of that stupid looking makeup line on my jaw. Every color, every kind of makeup,it's STILL there! How to get rid of that makeup line on my jaw?
My skin is very fair, and I've had the same difficulty you describe....until recently.

Colors vary from brand to brand. I actually use the same light colors in Clinique for my darker, summer look that I use in Aveda (www.aveda.com) for the winter-time pale face.

Clinique simply runs darker than other brands. The same is true for other cosmetic lines. Some are lighter, some darker. It gets confusing when you can have ten bottles of ';Ivory'; and not one of them is the same color or undertone.

Having said that, if you truly have exhausted all colors and makeup lines as you say, then you need to try and blend your neck color into your face.

Do NOT wear foundation on your neck as someone suggested. This is messy - the makeup ends up on your collar (very noticeable), and it just gets icky. To get rid of the line, follow these two tricks:

1. Use a sponge to blend your makeup on the jaw line....it could be that the application is too heavy, and thinning it out with a sponge might be all that you need to do. However, if you still notice a line, then do

2. Get a face powder one shade darker than your foundation....use a LARGE cosmetic brush and apply the face powder from the jaw line down on your neck. The powder looks more natural, and will not transfer as readily to clothing.

Or you could go to option 3: Check out several cosmetic counters and let the experts give you a makeover. It may be the foundation is the wrong formula for you....or that you are applying it too heavily....or yes, that the color is simply wrong. It isn't only light and dark you have to think about, but undertones - whether yellow or pink, cool, warm or neutral. The experts can help you pin all this down and teach you some tricks with makeup application.

If you've struggled with this for years, then getting extra help from the experts seems like a good option.

Best wishes to you -How to get rid of that makeup line on my jaw?
You can do a couple of things.

A. Sweep a clean sponge or cotton pad with light misting of water or face lotion all along the edges of your face to remove the excess foundation.

B. When applying foundation, use less, apply it towards the center of your face and blend it out towards the sides without adding more product to your face or sponge.

C. Instead of using foundation ALL over your face, find a concealer that matches your skin well to use ONLY where you need it (redness, dark circles or blemishes).

D. If all else fails start wearing a scarf as part of your ';signature look';

:-)
your best investment is a foam makeup applicator. i could not LIVE without mine.it blends like nothing else.

make sure the color foundation you use matches your skin color. use a foundation that matches and if you need more color use a brush on bronzer or blush.
I have the same problem- Its easy to get rid of it.

Take a makeup sponge and while applying your powder/foundation/whatever... make sure to blend the makeup into your neck with the sponge. Still there? Take a tissue and rub it - It'll blend in.
With a sponge, dab VERY LITTLE warm water into it and move it in a swirling motion around your jaw. This will blend it into your neck and gently decrease in color.
Try blending with a good sponge or foundation brush, bring your foundation down further and set with a powder a shade lighter than your foundation.
what you are actually suppose to do is match your foundation to your neck shade (they shouldn't be too differently shaded) then blend it down to your neck area under your chin
you just gotta keep looking for the right shade. and also, blend your makeup into your neck. andddd don't put on too much in the first place
make sure you get a fondation color that is very close to your skin color and always make sure when you put fontaion on that you rub or brush all the way down your neck
Use a sponge or your fingertips to smudge the endges down your jaw line.
put your makeup not only on your face but on your neck too.
Blend it down.
you have makeup on your jaw?!
take a cotton swab and put a little bit of vaseline on it
